Ergonomic Workstation Assessments Bendigo
What is an ergonomic assessment?
An ergonomic assessment involves an assessment of a user at their workstation, and adjustments to improve the comfort, productivity and safety for the individual using that workstation. By adjusting the workstation to suit the individual needs of the user, the risk of an ergonomic-related injury is significantly reduced.
A typical ergonomic assessment considers chair adjustments, desk height, monitor and laptop positions, keyboard and mouse positions, as well as environmental factors such as lighting, glare and noise.

In addition to workstation adjustments, an ergonomic assessment allows for tailored education that is specifically relevant to any symptoms the individual is experiencing.

Individual Ergonomic Assessments Bendigo
Individual ergonomic workstation assessments are indicated if an employee is injured, regularly reports discomfort or pain, or has presented their employer with a medical certificate requesting an ergonomic assessment as part of their treatment plan.
Individual ergonomic assessments are more in-depth than office ergonomic sweeps, requiring more time with the employee and a detailed report.
Individual Ergonomic Assessments are also available as a Home Office Ergonomic Assessment if your employees are working from home.

Ergonomic Assessment Sweeps Bendigo
Office ergonomic assessment sweeps are preventative in nature and involve a brief ergonomic assessment of each employees' workstation in your workplace. Ergonomic sweeps are often performed as an annual refresher within the office, before new equipment has been purchased, or after new equipment has been installed.
NB: If you are planning on getting new furniture or equipment in your office, I recommend having an office ergonomic sweep before purchasing your equipment. This way, I can recommend the appropriate equipment for you as part of the report that accompanies your ergonomic assessment sweep.
